Anahita, professore privato di lingue a Firenze

I'm fluent in both German and English; at the moment I'm giving lessons in German and English to children from the age of 8-15.

Now I’d like to describe a little bit about my personal life. I lived with my parents and my little sister Ariana in Bournemouth from the age of 1 to 7 until we moved back to my birthplace Bielefeld, Germany. My biggest interests are film, literature and music; that’s why I often visit book and film events and concerts. I also played the cello in my school orchestra for last 8 years.

My first experience with younger children and the responsibility to take care of them was in 8th grade when I started being a tutor in a 5th-grade-class. My job was as a mentor for the youngest students at our school and the contact person and confidante so that they would easily feel comfortable in their new environment. Once a week I spent an hour at their “Soziales Lernen” (“Learn how to be social”) lesson with one of my fellow students, which is meant to be a time when the children get to know each other and grow together through different playful exercises. In addition, we used three breaks per week to learn more about the students, their problems and fears: when it came to fights and arguments we tried to help solve their disagreements; a great support for this work was my training for being a mediator which I completed in my 7th grade and used the following 4 years using my skills. I loved seeing the development of each personality and how the students became a unity and individually more confident during that year.

Although I finished this involvement after my 10th grade, to concentrate a little bit more on my school but I didn’t stopped taking responsibility. Next to that I participated in the school orchestra. I was the pupil’s representative for a year; also I was part of our student newspaper for 3 years where many students between the ages of 10 to 15 are involved. In the last year I became the captain of the newspaper. These activities were my favourite parts of school because I love to take responsibility and change something for the better, even if it’s just a small.
