I'm Maureen. I come from South Africa, but have been living and working in Italy for 24 years. I'm TEFL certified and a B. Sc graduate. I've been teaching English in private schools and at home since I came to Italy. My lessons are personalised and aimed at improving all language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. I've worked in various sectors (Mining, Fitness, Insurance and Industry) , have taught in-company courses and am certified to teach Young Learners, Online, Business English and Exam preparation.
During first lessons I aim to understand the student's level of English and needs (through needs analysis), subsequently modelling lessons and lesson material to the students learning style, preferences and objectives. I use varied approaches and both traditional as well as online learning material to explain, clarify and motivate.
Being mother tongue, my lessons are in English. This helps students develop their listening and understanding, an essential step to the learning of a new language.
