The experiences I have had working with the elderly include one Alzheimer's patient, and one person who was convalescing from an auto accident. Both were octogenarians who had important work during their lives and were able to share their most valued memories with me while in my care. More recently, I have taken time to provide help with my own aging parents. Working in the capacity as both personal assistant and caretaker I am able to maintain a sense of compassion and integrity, while paying close attention to the needs of individuals. As a companion, I can keep someone company like a relative would do. As a caretaker I can help administer basic pill medications. I am not a trained medical professional and therefore do not help with intravenous medications, wound care, bathing, or toilet assistance. I can prepare snacks and small meals and tidy up in the kitchen. If you are considering me as a personal assistant, that is a separate offer altogether. Thank you.
Three to four hours maximum per day. I am limiting my availability as my service is as a relief person and not a full time caregiver.
